Here at The Thinking Lab, Tanner is responsible for guiding and coaching students with Math & Science-focused admission applications. A native of the United States, Tanner attended boarding school at Kent School where he was inducted to the Cum Laude Society having completed over 10 AP classes (for which he has also been recognized as an AP Student (w/ Distinction)). He then attended Northeastern University where he majored in Chemistry and Chemical Biology with a minor in Mathematics and graduated in 2016. After spending a year as a visiting researcher at The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST), Tanner started his PhD in Organic Chemistry at the world-renowned Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. In 2022, Tanner will join ETH Zürich in Switzerland as a postdoctoral research associate developing new chemical reactions. Tanner has authored over 10 peer-reviewed research publications and has presented his work at multiple international conferences.
